Old Pueblo Trolley was founded in 1983 to run heritage streetcars on 4th Ave and University Blvd, which came to fruition in 1993. Amassing a collection of trolleys from around the world, OPT was a prominent feature of Tucson life for many years. When service stopped in 2011, our streetcar fleet was slowly transferred to our current location over a period of several years.

Our street railway volunteers continue to put in the work of cleaning and maintaining our fleet, even if they currently have nowhere to operate. Our long-term vision is to one day run the trolleys again, this time on the streets of South Tucson. The division’s current goal is to install new permanent tracks inside our building leading out to the backyard and front parking lot. Such work depends on availability of funding and volunteers.
