Service History
Tanner Motor Tours was a sightseeing company in Los Angeles, California between the 1920s and the 1950s. Their bus fleet carried tourists to landmarks in Southern California and as far away as Mexico. The company purchased #100 in 1948 from Aerocoach, a small bus manufacturer in Chicago. The unusual observation-car-style windows were undoubtedly appealing to Tanner Motor Tours, but for whatever reason this was the only one they ordered. It can be seen in the 1953 movie βThe Bigamist.β
In either 1964 or 1965 the bus was sold to Sulger Bus Company, which ran bus services between Tucson and Sierra Vista, Arizona. Riders were mostly soldiers stationed at nearby Ft. Huachuca. The company went out of business in 1972.
